Did you know that according to Time/CNN poll, over one-third of those Americans who support Israel report that they do so because they believe the Bible teaches that the Jews must possess their own country in the Holy Land before Jesus can return?
Christian zionists such as the infamous Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell believe that if Israel is united as a whole, it will trigger the second coming and good Christians can take their long-awaited trip to heaven. This is especially true of dispensationalist evangelicals, who consistently portray themselves as Israel’s “friends” while hoping that Israeli politics will trigger their hoped- for Armageddon.
Falwell said in 1981: "To stand against Israel is to stand against God. We believe that history and scripture prove that God deals with nations in relation to how they deal with Israel. ...those who curse you will be cursed, and those who bless you will be blessed."
To me, it is perfectly fine for jews, christians and muslims to support Israel. They have the right to support whichever side they want. But I have a very strong dislike for people who supporting someone or something because of their religious belief and race.
Because of your belief, you ignored, rationalised and / or denied the fact that at least 9826 palestinians have been killed and 71841 others have been injured since September 29 2000.
Because of your belief, you ignored, rationalised and / or denied the fact that 6500 palestinians are currently imprisoned by Israel.
Because of your belief, you ignored, rationalised and / or denied the fact that at least 28000 palestinian homes have been abolished since 1967.
Ergo, to all supporters of israel please don't quote your bible to justify your support for Israel's war crimes. The same goes to muslims. Don't quote your quran, your prophet and then say, ''We must support palestinian brothers because they are muslims'' and ''Death to all jews. Allahuakhbar.'' I hate it so much.
Please think objectively and rationally in this sensitive issue. Don't let your belief makes you sound ignorant and supporting evil.
